Happy 150th Birthday Kaysville!!  Kaysville became the first city incorporated in Davis County In 1868. It was first settled by the Haight family in 1850 as a farming community but was named after William Kay. The majority of people settling into Kaysville up until 1852 were of English descent. There wasn’t any division of lands. When settlers came into town, if they came across land that suited them, and it did not have a settlement on it, they would build a fence and live on it. Initially, they started to build a fort for protection from Indians. There weren’t any issues with Indians in that area so the fort was torn down. Since then, the city of about 10 square miles houses nearly 30,000 residents.

Some places of interest in the City of Kaysville is Cherry Hill, originally opened as a campground in 1967, and has grown to a beautiful playground, water, and amusement park. Families can come and enjoy camping, fun, and games and cool off in the summer. LeConte Stewart Artist Museum showcases an early Utah rural artist home/studio that is on Utah’s National Register of Historic Places. The Utah Botanical Center is a botanical garden coupled with a Utah State University distance education site.
