Nephi, UT

Nephi is a city in Juab county and in the Provo-Orem metro area of the State of Utah.  In 2010, the population was about 5,300 and reached almost 6,200 in 2018. Nephi was settled by Mormon pioneers in the year 1851. It acquired the same “Salt Creek” at first and then eventually became Nephi. The name Nephi came from the prophet Nephi in the Book of Mormon. 

Mormon settlers began to make camps along the Salt Creek area on the Mormon Road all the way to southern California.  It remained Salt Creek until a post office was built in 1882 when the town was named Nephi. The city sits between the San Pitch Mountains and the Wasatch Mountains just off Interstate 15. As far as nearby cities go, Spanish Fork is just north 30 miles and Scipio lies just 37 miles south. Actual area of the town is 4.6 square miles, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Gunnison, Moroni, and Leamington are also close by cities that make southern Utah a great place to live.  Not only do you get a country feel from living in wide-open spaces but you are still not too far from larger cities with everything you need.
